Wake up Saturday 12 Nov 2011 morning late and dont have any plan in mind. Then suddenly housemates ask me. Wanna go Tainan? Without hesitate i agreed to go with them. Took local bus to Kaohsiung main train station and bought immediate train to Tainan.
Kaohsiung to Tainan on 區間車 cost 68NT$. Depart at 1405 and journey takes 53mins.
Tainan Main Station... see how late we arrive
(main purpose to Tainan is Garden Night Market 花園夜市)
Once arrive Tainan directly head off to An Ping District 安平區 to An Ping Fort 安平古堡 also known as Fort Zeelandia. Entrance fees is 50NT$ but student discount is 25NT$.
Went straight to the museum.
Then to the fort... actually it has nothing to see... we just took a few photo then left...
Climb up to the top of the tower and can have an aerial view of the town... but its still nothingTemple directly in front of ticket counter entrance
The spiral stairs... not really worth climbing
Another angle of the tower
There is another attraction nearby - An Ping Tree House 安平樹屋 (25NT$ student price) but since its already late so we give it a miss.
Then take bus 99 back to Tainan Main Train Station then take another bus to Garden Night Market. Its really big and crowded. Ranked top 10 night market in Taiwan.
See those crowd... there is no chance of walking but move by being push by people.
Love those flag banner... really easy to indicate direction and find food.
Food section

Very nice fried pork ribs 100NT$ medium
Fried mushroom... crispy on the outside but 'springy' inside.
